Mikkeller sends another IPA to the U.S.
(Copenhagen, DENMARK) – Just recently got what has become the monthly update from Mikkeller. Warrior Single Hop is the second Single Hop beer coming out and is on its way to the States. Single Hop Simcoe is the first in the series and is due out soon while Cascade Single Hop, the third in the set, will be further down the road. More will come afterward, some with U.S. hops and some with International hops. Mikkel traveled to Belgium to brew the single hop beers at De Proef.
Not Just Another Wit should also be out in the U.S. very soon while Santa’s Little Helper and To From are out on shelves now. Others I am keeping tabs on are Beer Geek Brunch, Havregoop (the 2nd Three Floyds collaboration), and Tyttebaer (the Nogne O collaboration). A U.S. hops version of It’s Alive! in the works. And then there was the announcement on the Mikkeller blog early last month that he traveled to Scotland to work on an 11% ABV Barley Wine-style ale with BrewDog. He picked up some of those islay whiskey barrels that they are notorious for but I won’t go any further on that one.
Lastly, Mikkeller recently worked with Shaun Hill and Co. from Norrebro Bryghus in Denmark where they have a limited bottle release coming there as well. Some in the States may recognize Hill as the former Head Brewer at The Shed in Vermont.
