(Chicago, IL) – The historic Clybourn brew pub looked like it might be dead in the water three months ago. But a mid-November deal struck between Goose Island Founder, John Hall, and the N. Clybourn Ave. landlord saved the brew pub from being closed at the end of the year. Now, the brewery is honoring the pub with a set of new beer releases under the Clybourn Heritage Collection.
The brewery will bottle Goose Island Red Felt and Naughty Goose for the first time and bring back its Demolition Belgian Ale in bottles; it last appeared in 2007. It is unknown at this time whether the series will be released only around the brewery like with last year’s 20th Anniversary Series or see more distribution . . . and unknown whether more beers will be added alongside the trio.
Red Felt and Naughty Goose have both been available on tap at the Clybourn brewpub over the last year. Red Felt is an American Red Ale that debuted on tap in 2005. It features Cascade, Crystal, and Columbus hops to the tune of 40 IBUs (and 6% ABV). Naughty Goose goes all the way back to 2002. The American Brown Ale showcases Cascade and Tettnang (also used in the Imperial IPA).
In addition, Brewmaster Greg Hall recently revealed that Goose Island Juliet and Saison Sofie are expected to get label approval soon. The beers were shared (in the bottle) at a Goose Island event last night so these should be released soon.
