Beer notes: Larry Bell’s fight and Batch 9000, Portsmouth Kate, and more
As mentioned in my Bell’s Batch 9000 piece from a while back, Bell’s Brewery is in the midst of a legal battle over distribution again. This time it is on Bell’s home turf of Michigan. Check out Tuesday’s Wall Street Journal article for details. In other Bell’s news, Larry noted that Bell’s Batch 9000 could be released as late as fall.
Hot off the presses, Smuttynose Brewing and Portsmouth Brewery owner, Peter Egelston, has issued some new thoughts on details on how the next Kate the Great release will play out on March 1, 2010. Bottle sales and tapping time will now be staggered. More info over at the Smuttynose Tavern blog.
Great Divide Brewing will release Belgica this coming Friday, May 1st from 6-8pm and should come into distribution sometime shortly thereafter.
Alaskan Brewing has put an update on its website regarding the new Alaskan White. The beer is available now in the home state and will hit the contiguous U.S. states of Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming in early May.
Two Brothers Brewing updated its website again this week. They are on Facebook now, releasing some beers soon, etc…
