Allagash Fluxus 09 details emerge
(Portland, ME) – Another pull from Yankee Brew News. This time, Sean Sweeney reports on the new edition of
Allagash Fluxus
, a beer (which changes each year) that took over for the Anniversary Series a couple years back. “This year it’s a Belgian-style saison ale brewed with sweet potato and black pepper. Numerous pilot batches were brewed to find the delicate balance necessary when spicing with pepper. [...] slated to be released mid-summer in corked 75-mL bottles and on draft.”
Continuing onto other beers, “June, July, and August will see consecutive releases of Interlude, Hugh Malone, and Odyssey. Rob Tod also revealed in an interview on The Brewing Network last month that Confluence, which has been faring pretty well in early reviews, will also return again this year. I recommend listening if you’re interested in learning a bit about how Allagash brews their beers (and specifically, Confluence). Turns out that Rob Todd has recently become a Twitter junkie as well.
[Ed: note that the pic above is from the initial batch of Fluxus in 2007 though the label probably won't change much from year to year if the '08 label is any indication.]
