Stone Vertical Epic 09.09.09 details
(Escondido, CA) – Well, not all of them . . . yet. I am sure Stone Brewing will have a post up regarding
Stone Vertical Epic 09.09.09
soon as they mentioned on their Twitter feed earlier this month. At least we now have information on this brew thanks to label approval:
“This is quite a complex and layered beer. Bold and smooth chocolate malt flavors combine with a Belgian yeast lending tropical fruit/banana flavors and hints of spiciness, all complemented by citrus notes from an addition of tangerine peel. Rich vanilla beans add a nice counter to the chocolate malt – actually enhancing the chocolatiness. The finish is smooth, with additional traces of vanilla and toasted characters from French Oak. The goal for this edition of the Stone Vertical Epic Ale series is to be reminiscent of artisanal chocolates accentuated with orange.”
Last year’s Belgian Strong Pale Ale got the series back on track in terms of beer ratings after the ‘07 underperformed with reviewers.

This sounds a lot like the vertical epic from what was it, 2006? I think that was it, either that or one of the Anni beers from around that time. Whatever it was, that was one of my favorite non-uber-hoppy beers that I’ve ever had from Stone. Happy to hear something similar is coming down the pipe in a few months.

Not sure what the connotation is behind the joke. But I didn’t see the beer description posted anywhere online so I thought I’d share it with people who enjoy the VE series. Thanks for reading and cheers.

Bien por reebok. Esta gente entendio la diferencia entre la necesidad de tener o usar tales o cuales zapatillas y el placer que genera personalizar un objeto de deseo.

Speaking of 09.09.09, I am going to have to buy multiple cases of this. http://tr.im/rMwg. It even has a hint of banana flavor in it!
