Two Brothers Brewing introduces Oak-Aged Heavier Handed IPA

(Warrenville, IL) – Two Brothers Brewing posted up some news on the new Heavier Handed IPA on its site today:

“One way to remind us the cold weather is here for a while is that we started Northwind Imperial Stout production last week. See, there is always a bright side. We will be packaging the first batch in mid-November.

Our label got approved yesterday for our new Artisan Beer. Actually, I just approved the artwork from the label company this morning. They will get it on press by the first of next week. Once I know the day we will get the labels in our brewery, I can schedule the packaging and release dated for it. However, since so many people have been bugging me about what it is, I will let the cat out of the bag.

We took wet hops from the last day of harvest in Washington State and brewed a stepped up version of our IPA that we call Heavier Handed. It has substantially more wet hop in it than Heavy Handed. It is higher in alcohol and IBU’s. Then we moved it to one of our Foudres and dry hopped the heck out of it. It is sort of a bigger IPA or smaller double IPA whichever way you want to look at it. It fantastic and we are very excited to get it out in bottle and draft in the next week or so.

Heavy Handed production is finished now. The hops have all been harvested in Washington. We will be packaging the last batch of Heavy Handed next week. I have listed below the hop varieties that corresponded to the lot numbers printed on the back label, just one more to come.
