Sierra Nevada Glissade Golden Bock to kick off brewery’s 30th Anniversary year
(Chico, CA) – Sierra Nevada Brewing will kick off 2010 like it did 2009 . . . with a new beer. Sierra Nevada Glissade Golden Bock is the brewery’s new winter/spring seasonal which debuts in January. The Helles Bock will replace Sierra Nevada ESB and will be available in multiple formats: 6-pack, 12-pack, 24oz and draft. Communications Coordinator, Bill Manley, described it as a “more balanced, malty beer” than ESB.
And if you are excited about that, consider what Manley sent me in an email earlier today: “This is the first new beer in a year that will be chock-full of new releases in celebration of our 30th anniversary.”
This year has been a big one for the brewery with the debut of three new beers in bottles: Sierra Nevada Torpedo in January, Sierra Nevada Kellerweis in May, and Sierra Nevada / Dogfish Head Life and Limb this month. I retweeted this yesterday but if you missed it, the brewery shipped that beer on Monday. Sierra Nevada is handling distribution of the beer and you can see what states it will be sent to in my piece on Celebration Ale (which I am enjoying a glass of as I write this!).

OG: 15.5 P
FG: 3.2 P
Bitterness: 42 IBU

Looking forward to this one! Just sad I missed the boat on the ESB.

No offense to a great brewery, but their ESB wasn’t that good an ESB. A helles bock is a great switch.
