The Bruery Oude Tart slated to debut in bottles on January 16

(Placentia, CA) – The Bruery is about to release its Flemish Red called Oude Tart. I have only seen four trading threads so far at Beer Advocate that mention the beer though I am expecting that to increase 5-10x throughout January. This beer will be a hot topic over the coming days. Here is the scoop from Patrick Rue:

“We’re just releasing it from our tasting room– the total release will be 2400 bottles. The Reserve Society has the option to buy 6 bottles, so that would leave 240 bottles left over if every member gets their allocation. I’m expecting at least 700 bottles left over though. The oldest batch of Flemish Red going into this is 18 months, and it’s a blend of three batches total. All batches were aged in red wine barrels.”

Folks at The Bruery describe it as a “delicious balance of sour and funk with subtle hints of leather and cherry.” 7.5% ABV.

Though The Bruery put the beer on tap over the holidays, the beer will make its bottle debut at the exclusive-to-members Reserve Society Initiation Celebration taking place on Saturday, January 16th:

“We will be having 2 sessions, the first from 12 a.m. until 3 p.m., and the second from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. If your member number is 1-175, you’ll be attending the first session. If your member number is 176-400, you’ll be attending the second session. If there is a conflict with you attending one session over the other, please eMail society@thebruery.com and we’ll try our best to accommodate you for the session of your choice.”

Leftover bottles of the beer will be sold to the public at the brewery shortly thereafter.
