New Hampshire-based Pennichuck Brewing will be releasing for the first time in bombers its award-winning The Big O Oktoberfest Lager later this year. According to South Bay Drugs, Port Brewing is working on another batch of its 2nd Anniversary Ale. The first batch made its debut at the Port 2nd anniversary party last month and is inching its way toward the top 25 Imperial/Double IPAs in the world as ranked by RateBeer. The hop bomb is already on the shelves in several places (or sold out already depending on your location). Even those in Massachusetts have been fortunate enough to get some. Pennsylvanians should be pleased byThe Beeryard’s report that the state will get in a shipment as well; the store is currently taking pre-orders [ed: at $4.25/bottle cheaper than what I paid for it!! :hot:]. The new batch will make the rounds in July.

New bottles from the aptly named, The Bruery, have recently hit store shelves in or around Southern California. Based in Orange County, CA, the new brewery specializes in Belgian-style craft beers. The Bruery Orchard White is even staking a claim as a contender for top-rated Continue On! »

The East Coast edition of Beer Notes!

Pennsylvania-area beer fans could be surprised when Southern Tier Brewing releases its Cherry Saison early. The beer should be made available late this week according to a representative from Shangy’s in Enmaus. No word yet on distribution to other states but it should roll out elsewhere soon thereafter. Southern Tier Creme Brulee shouldn’t be far off either.

Terrapin Beer Company announced a little over a week ago that RoggenRauchbier, #2 in the Side Project Series, would be available in early June. Meanwhile, the brewery will also be releasing Terrapin India Brown Ale in bottles for the first time.

Mayflower Brewing is a fairly new operation based in Massachusetts. The brewery recently started shipping out bottles for the first time in and around the Boston area. The brewery may not see much respect on Ratebeer but Director of Brewing Operations, Matt Steinberg, has successfully got what appears to be a mini-cult following at Beer Advocate. The beers available in bottles now are Mayflower Golden Ale and Mayflower Pale Ale. Mayflower Porter will be available next month while Mayflower IPA, the most popular beer, has been sporadically available around Boston bars on tap.

Lastly, Smuttynose Brewing apparently stopped brewing its Portsmouth Lager and is replacing it with a Belgian-style ale of some kind. Portsmouth Lager has been around for years so this is quite a change for the brewery. [And it's nice to see folks getting riled up about a lager going offline.]

Jaime posted an update over on the brewery’s blog today; here’s an excerpt: “HopArt IPA and Blackbeerd Imperial Stout are hitting Ted’s Butcher Block tomorrow- though I think he is holding them for a release on Saturday given the demand. Whole Foods will be getting some in the next little while and probably a smaller bit at Wine A While as well. I‘ll update when I know for sure.”
