Surly Darkness label

[10/23 Update: Fox News Video on this year's edition

Great photoblog w/ video on the bottling]

(Brooklyn Center, MN) - Surly Darkness will be released less than one week from today at the brewery. Beer ratings currently have it in the top 10 at both Beer Advocate and RateBeer. People are still coming out of GABF mode but I expect the Darkness chatter to pick up this week. Full event details are posted at the Surly site.

And don’t forget about the Darkness Eve party at Stub n Herb’s.

Local artist, Nic Skrade, is responsible for this year’s label. Nic keeps a blog featuring some of his artwork, and more shots of his tattoo work can be found at the Uptown Tattoo site.

I can assure you some stock left the brewery last week for the US and will be imported, as always, by the Shelton Brothers.” With Struise having some kind of agreement with Ebenezer’s Pub in Maine for Black Albert, I wonder how much of this first shipment will be available to retailers. Stay tuned.
