Anderson Valley Brewing sold to HMB Holdings

[3/17 Update: Trey White, owner of HMB Holdings, has reached out since I published this last night. Here is an excerpt from the email that I don't think he'll mind me re-publishing here. Sounds like HMB Holdings is a small outfit that is looking after the best interests of AVBC fans: "We are small guys helping another small guy who is at retirement age transition his brewery to some fellow 'beer' guys. My intention is to run hard with the great products Ken et al. have created, lots of great beers with some disc golf and Boonville beer fests thrown in."]

Beer notes: Goose Island, The Bruery, Troegs, Schalfly

gi-bcs-coffee-stoutA lot to cover in this edition . . . Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout rumors, The Bruery Melange no. 3, Troegs Rugged Trail and two new Schlafly beers coming.

Rumor! There is a lot of talk on Beer Advocate that Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Coffee Stout will be delayed into next month. I haven’t confirmed this but according to one poster (via Greg Hall), the Bourbon County Stout variants will be available in Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.

A couple more technical points on the beer for the homebrewers out there: O.G.: 30, 60 IBU, Hops: Willamette, Malts: 2-row, Munich, Chocolate, Caramel 60, Roast Barley, Debittered Black.
